The “Carol of the Drum” written in 1941 by an American teacher, K.K. Davis, and is based on an old Czech carol. It appealed to the Von Trapp Family Singers, of “Sound of Music” fame, and was recorded by them in 1955. Soon after, this popular song was renamed “The Little Drummer Boy.”
